Reddit Pro is Reddit's free set of business tools for taking part in Reddit without ads. It lets a brand track keywords across Reddit, find the communities and threads where people discuss its products, set up a business profile, and measure how its own posts and comments perform. It costs nothing, and it's still labeled a beta.
This guide is for marketing teams at brands that sell products people research before they buy. It covers every Reddit Pro feature as of October 2026, how to sign up, the rules that come with it, how it differs from Reddit Premium and Reddit Ads, what it can't tell you, and a 30-day plan for using it well.
Key takeaways
- Reddit Pro is free for eligible businesses and organizations. You need a Reddit account with a verified email, a safe-for-work profile and a business website.
- It has five parts: Dashboard, Profile, Trends (keyword tracking), Content (for publishers) and Performance (organic analytics).
- It is not Reddit Premium (a paid consumer subscription) and not Reddit Ads. It does connect to Ads through a "promote" button.
- Reddit Pro accounts follow the same rules as everyone else, plus extra rules for businesses: say which brand you represent, don't pay for praise, and don't go after critics.
- Pro shows you where your brand is discussed on Reddit. It doesn't show which of those threads rank on Google or feed AI answers, so you'll need another way to see that.

What is Reddit Pro?
Reddit Pro is a free suite of organic business tools. Reddit's help page on what Reddit Pro is says it helps businesses "discover, join, and contribute to" Reddit communities and conversations. "Organic" means unpaid: your posts and comments, not ads.
Reddit groups the tools into three jobs:
- Discovery: find the communities and conversations that matter to your business.
- Contribution: understand how and where to post and comment.
- Measurement: track how your content performs over time.
Here are the basics as of October 2026:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Cost | Free |
| Status | Beta, for eligible businesses and organizations |
| Where it works | Desktop and mobile web; the Trends tab also works in the iOS and Android apps |
| Countries | All English-speaking countries where Reddit operates |
| Languages tracked | English conversations only |
| Content counted | Public, safe-for-work communities only |
A short history
Reddit launched Reddit Pro in beta on March 8, 2024, with AI-powered insights, organic analytics, publishing tools and a Pro dashboard. TechCrunch reported that more than 200 businesses were using it at launch. Reddit also told TechCrunch that brands in early tests averaged 11 more posts and comments a month and a 35% rise in monthly upvotes. Treat that as Reddit's own early figure, not an independent study.
Since then Reddit has added to it:
- August 2025: Trends came to the iOS app, Performance gained comment metrics, and Reddit published its first organic playbook for businesses.
- September 2025: publisher tools arrived, including article insights, RSS syncing and AI-suggested communities, per TechCrunch.
- July 2026: verified profiles for businesses on Reddit Pro moved into public beta, according to Reddit's changelog.
- October 2026: the publishers' Links tab was renamed Content and redesigned, per the October 8 changelog.
Is Reddit Pro free?
Yes. Reddit Pro is free to use for eligible businesses and organizations. Reddit's help center says so directly, and the Reddit Pro sign-up page calls it a free solution. There is no paid tier.
Two related things are also free. Profile verification for businesses on Reddit Pro costs nothing, and Reddit warns that anyone selling Reddit verification isn't affiliated with it. Hosting an AMA on your profile is free too. The costs only start if you choose to promote a post as an ad, which runs through Reddit Ads.
The real cost is time. Reddit Pro finds conversations and measures results. Someone on your team still has to read threads, write helpful answers and reply to follow-ups.
What's included: the five Reddit Pro tools
Reddit Pro has five areas. Each one has its own help page, and the details below come from those pages as of October 2026.
Reddit Pro's five areas. Content is only for publishers who verify their domain.
1. Dashboard
The Dashboard is the home screen. It shows lifetime post views, upvotes and followers for your account. A monthly progress card tracks your posts and comments against monthly engagement targets. Reddit says those targets are the same for every Reddit Pro user, so treat them as a habit guide, not a plan built for your brand.
You can also invite teammates. In the beta they get read-only access to Reddit Pro insights. They can look, but they can't act through Pro on the brand account.
2. Profile
Every Reddit account has a profile. Reddit Pro adds business profile features:
- Profile flair: labels that sort your profile posts, so visitors find answers faster.
- Scheduled posts: schedule posts on your profile and in communities you moderate.
- Profile AMAs: host an "Ask Me Anything" on your own profile with Reddit's AMA post type. Our guide to how a Reddit AMA works covers when a profile AMA makes sense and when a community AMA is better.
- Verified profiles: apply for a grey checkmark through account settings under "Professional tools." To qualify, the business name must match the account's display name and the account must be in good standing.
Reddit is clear that the checkmark only confirms identity. It "doesn't affect moderation rules, feed ranking, ad performance, or access to product features."
3. Trends
Trends is the tool most brands sign up for. You add keywords, such as your brand, product names, competitors or category terms. For each keyword, Trends shows:
- Most discussed: the posts and comments that mention it and got the most engagement.
- Top discussions: an AI-generated summary that groups popular discussions into themes, with links to the threads.
- Communities talking about your keyword: the top subreddits by mentions, with member counts.
- Conversation volume and related keywords: only for "smart keywords," which Reddit offers for some brand names, products, categories and topics. Related keywords show mentions over the last six months.
There is no limit on how many keywords you track. You can also repost a community thread about your business to your profile.
Know the limits. Trends only pulls from public, safe-for-work communities. Private, banned, quarantined and NSFW communities, chats, messages, deleted content and some sensitive topics are excluded. It only covers English conversations, and the insights aren't limited to one country.
4. Content (publishers only)
Content is for publishers who identify as one at sign-up and verify their domain. Reddit uses the identity company Persona to check that your email matches your domain. Once verified, you can:
- See every post on Reddit that links to your domain, with views, clicks, upvotes and comments.
- Import articles by RSS feed or by hand. Feeds are checked daily, and nothing posts automatically. You share each link yourself.
- Get suggested communities for each article, matched on topic, rules and past engagement.
- Keep private notes on each community.
Content works on desktop only. Most product brands won't need it, unless they run a large blog or buying-guide section. Reddit's publisher page says median comments on publisher stories grew 48% after publishers adopted these tools, based on Reddit's internal data from February 2026.
5. Performance
Performance shows how your organic posts and comments do. It covers:
- Posts: total views, upvote ratio, comments and shares, plus hourly views for the first 48 hours (kept for 45 days).
- Comments: views, upvotes, replies, shares, upvote ratio, awards and top countries by views.
- Account: reach, engagement and followers over a time range you pick.
You can download each report as a CSV file. Performance only counts organic activity. Paid results stay in Reddit Ads Manager.
How to sign up for Reddit Pro
To join, go to redditforpros.com, select Sign Up and follow the steps. That address forwards to Reddit's business site. The sign-up help page lists what you need:
- A Reddit account with a verified email and a safe-for-work profile. Reddit suggests a new username for the business if you already use Reddit personally. Usernames can't be changed later.
- Your account type, business name and website.
- Your business category. Choose carefully: you can't change the category after sign-up, and Reddit uses it to suggest keywords.
- Business size (optional).
- A profile bio. Reddit offers AI-written bios based on your website, or you can write your own.
Pick a username that makes it obvious who you are. Reddit's own playbook gives three patterns: the brand name, an employee ("brandy_at_reddit" in Reddit's example) or a role. Our brand account setup checklist walks through the rest of the profile.
A new account still faces each community's karma and age filters. Reddit Pro doesn't skip them. Our guide to earning Reddit karma as a brand explains how those filters work.
The rules that come with Reddit Pro
Reddit Pro accounts follow the same Reddit Rules, User Agreement and community rules as everyone else. Moderators can remove your content or ban you just like any other user. Reddit also lists four extra rules for businesses on Reddit Pro:
- Be open about which brand you represent. Don't pose as another brand or as a regular customer.
- Respect privacy. Don't try to unmask pseudonymous users or build profiles of individual users.
- Don't go after critics. Don't target, harass or retaliate against people who say negative things about your brand.
- Don't pay for praise. Don't offer incentives for positive posts about your brand.
The Trends help page adds limits on data use. Reddit Pro is for internal use. Don't publish screenshots of it in marketing without Reddit's consent, and don't download other users' posts and comments, by hand or with tools.
US law points the same way. The FTC's endorsement guides FAQ says employees who talk about their company's products should disclose the connection, and that "listing your employer on your profile page isn't enough." So say who you are in the comment itself when it matters, not only in your bio.
Reddit Pro vs Reddit Premium vs Reddit Ads
These are three different products, and people mix them up often. Reddit says Reddit Pro is "not a replacement for Reddit Premium" and not a paid advertising tool.
Reddit Pro is a free business toolbox. Premium is a consumer membership. Ads is paid reach.
| Reddit Pro | Reddit Premium | Reddit Ads | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who it's for | Businesses and organizations | Individual users | Advertisers |
| Price (Oct 2026) | Free | $5.99 per month or $49.99 per year on the web | You set the budget |
| Main use | Find conversations, run a business profile, measure organic posts | Ad-free browsing, higher post limits, profile perks | Paid placements in feeds and conversations |
| Listening tools | Yes, keyword Trends | No | Audience and targeting tools, not listening |
| Organic analytics | Posts, comments and account | Account-level analytics | Paid results only |
| Needs disclosure as a brand | Yes, always | Not a brand product | Ads are labeled as promoted |
Premium prices come from Reddit's Premium help page; in-app prices are higher.
The bridge between Pro and Ads is the promote button. Reddit's promote your post feature turns an eligible profile or community post into an ad. It uses the traffic objective, charges per click, targets by community only and shows in feeds only. For more targeting or conversation placements, build the campaign in Ads Manager. Our Reddit Ads guide covers the full options.
What Reddit Pro can't tell you
Reddit Pro measures what happens on Reddit. It doesn't measure where Reddit threads show up off Reddit. For brands selling considered purchases, that is a big gap.
Your buyers often meet a Reddit thread through Google, not through Reddit's feed. Reddit's organic playbook for businesses says people chose a Reddit result from Google over 23 billion times in a year, citing Google data from May 2023 to May 2024. Reddit also says it is the most cited source across major AI platforms, based on data collected by Profound through July 2025. Reddit Pro's help pages don't describe any data about which threads rank on Google or appear in AI answers.
Here's what that means in practice:
| What you want to know | Does Reddit Pro show it? |
|---|---|
| Where is my brand mentioned on Reddit? | Yes, in Trends (public, SFW, English only) |
| Which subreddits discuss my category most? | Yes, for your keywords |
| How did my own comments and posts perform? | Yes, in Performance |
| Which threads rank on Google for my buyers' searches? | No |
| Which threads AI answers cite for my category? | No |
| Is a competitor recommended in threads that never mention me? | Only if you track the competitor's name as a keyword |
| Mentions in private or NSFW communities | No |
The threads that matter most are often old ones that still rank for "best [product] for [use]" searches. They may never trend, and some won't mention your brand at all. Our guides to Reddit SEO and Reddit in AI search explain how to find those threads. The academy lesson on finding the threads your buyers read is a good place to start.
So use Reddit Pro for listening and measuring on Reddit, and pair it with search data for the threads your buyers actually land on.
How brands use Reddit Pro: a 30-day plan
Reddit's own advice is to listen first, comment often, post rarely and measure as you go. The plan below turns Reddit's 2025 organic playbook into four weeks of work. Each step uses a specific Reddit Pro tool.
A 30-day Reddit Pro plan: listen, comment, post, then measure.
- Week 1: Listen. Add your brand, your top two or three products, your main competitors and your category terms in Trends. Read the AI summaries, then open the real threads. List the 5 to 10 communities that come up most, and read each one's rules.
- Week 2: Comment. Answer questions where you have real knowledge, about your products or the category. Say who you are in the reply. Reddit's playbook says to write like a person, reply when people respond, and not use comments to sell.
- Week 3: Post, carefully. Post only after you've built some history in a community. Reddit's playbook says to message the moderators before posting in a community you don't own. Good first posts are guides, honest comparisons or a profile AMA.
- Week 4: Measure. Open Performance. Reddit's playbook names an upvote rate of 75% or more as best in class for businesses. Below that, change your approach before you add volume. Then watch total upvotes, replies and followers grow month over month.
Reddit has published one more data point worth knowing. In its August 2025 Reddit Pro update, Reddit said one organic post a week by a brand was linked to a 3.5% rise in positive user posts about that brand. Three brand comments on a user's post raised positive posting about the brand by 2.2%. Both figures are Reddit's internal data for North America, March 2024 to March 2025.
What this looks like at a real brand
Reddit's Wayfair case study shows the same pattern. Wayfair's content team noticed Reddit threads ranking on Google for the long-tail queries they target. They used Trends to find conversations in decorating communities and answered shopping questions with practical advice, sharing blog articles only when they fit. Sarah Fuller, Senior Content Editor at Wayfair, said Trends lets her "see where our brand is being mentioned across multiple different subreddits." Reddit reports steady month-over-month growth in Reddit referral traffic to Wayfair's blog and a 50%+ increase in profile followers.
Example scenario: a standing-desk brand starts with Reddit Pro This is an illustrative example, not a real client.
The situation: A mid-size online standing-desk brand sells desks from $500 to $1,200. Its marketing lead sees Reddit threads on Google for searches like "best standing desk for tall people," but nobody at the company has posted on Reddit.
What they do: The lead signs up for Reddit Pro under a clear brand username and picks "furniture" as the category. In Trends, they track the brand name, two competitors and "standing desk." Week 1 shows most talk happens in a few home-office and ergonomics communities. In weeks 2 and 3, a product specialist answers 3 to 4 questions a week about desk height, motor noise and returns, always saying they work for the brand. They post one buying guide after messaging a community's moderators.
The likely outcome: By day 30 they have a profile with useful answers and a Performance baseline. If their upvote rate is under the 75% Reddit calls best in class, they rework their replies before adding volume. Using Reddit's internal benchmark of a 3.5% rise in positive brand posts per weekly organic post, a steady pace should slowly improve how users talk about the brand. Trends won't show whether their answers sit in the threads that rank on Google, so they also check search results for their top buyer queries.
Is Reddit Pro worth it?
For any brand that wants to take part on Reddit, yes. It's free, and the data on your own performance isn't available anywhere else. The real question is whether you have the time to use it.
Reddit Pro is a good fit if:
- Your customers already discuss your category on Reddit.
- Someone on your team can spend a few hours a week answering questions as the brand.
- You want to track brand and competitor mentions without paying for a listening tool.
It falls short if:
- You need data from private communities, non-English threads or Google rankings.
- You want several teammates acting through the tool. Team access is read-only in the beta.
- You expect the tool to do the work. It finds conversations; it doesn't write or post for you.
Conclusion
Reddit Pro is the free starting point for any brand on Reddit. Sign up with a clear brand username, track your brand, competitors and category in Trends, answer questions openly, and use Performance to keep your upvote rate high. Treat it as your Reddit listening and measuring tool, then add search data so you know which threads your buyers actually read before they buy.
FAQs
Is Reddit Pro free?
Yes. Reddit Pro is free for eligible businesses and organizations, and there is no paid tier. Profile verification for Reddit Pro businesses is also free. You only pay if you choose to promote a post as an ad through Reddit Ads.
Who can get Reddit Pro?
Any business or organization with a Reddit account that has a verified email and a safe-for-work profile. You also give a business name, website and category at sign-up. Reddit Pro is available in all English-speaking countries where Reddit operates.
Is Reddit Pro the same as Reddit Premium?
No. Reddit Premium is a paid subscription for individual users, with ad-free browsing and higher post limits. Reddit Pro is a free set of business tools for keyword tracking, business profiles and organic analytics. Reddit says Pro is not a replacement for Premium.
Can I use my personal Reddit account for Reddit Pro?
You can, but Reddit suggests a new username for your business if you already use Reddit personally. A separate account keeps your personal history apart from the brand and makes it clear who is speaking. Usernames can't be changed after sign-up.
Does Reddit Pro post for me?
No. Reddit Pro can schedule posts you write for your profile and for communities you moderate. Publishers can import articles by RSS, but Reddit says nothing is posted automatically; you share each link yourself.
Does Reddit Pro help my posts rank higher or reach more people?
Not directly. Reddit says the verified checkmark doesn't affect feed ranking, and Pro accounts follow the same community rules and filters as everyone else. Reach comes from posting helpful content in the right communities, or from promoting posts as ads.
